PLYM VALLEY RADIO - A TEMPORARY STATION FOR LOCKDOWN 2.
The station provides a selection of online show which you can hear below. As well as providing a selection of local news, information and promotion of local services, there is music from a range of talented artists not often heard on mainstream stations.

Plympton broadcaster and former Stannator Andrew Hill hosts a regular weekend radio show of music, news and features called "Wired for the Weekend". You can hear some of the more recent ones below.

WALKING THE TURNCHAPEL LINE: This is a series of four half hour programmes tracing the route of the old Turnchapel railway line starting from Friary Yard at St Judes, describing what is there now and giving some information as to what was there in the past.

PLYMPTON 'OWL MAN' RUSSELL BURT: For many years he's been seen walking around Plympton with an owl on his shoulder and he also used to run Plympton Owls taking his collection to various local events. He's retired now, but you can listen to an interview recorded with him here in 2015.

PLYMPTON'S RUSTIC BUSKER: Jay Urquhart is often seen gigging in local pubs and busking on Ridgeway. Here you can listen to him chatting with Charlotte Willis and playing a few songs.

BARRY MCGUIGAN: Plymouth's dri ski slope opened back in 1989. Among the celebrities at the launch weekend was former world boxing champion Barry McGuigan. You can listen here to an interview recorded with him at that opening weekend.

ELLIS DAW (FOUNDER OF DARTMOOR WILDLIFE PARK): Ellis Daw was the original founder of the Dartmoor Wildlife Park, running it for around 40 years until it closed in 2006 before later being sold to the Mee Family. Ellis has since passed away but here you can listen to him talking about his time at the Park, at well as life in the Home Guard and his book from 'From the Lamb to the Tiger'.
