THE EASTERN CORRIDOR ROAD IMPROVEMENT SCHEME - This commenced at the beginning of September 2019 and after a brief pause during the Coronavirus lockdown started again on 11th May 2020. PLYMPTON HALL (behind the Police Station)

PLYMPTON'S NEW HERITAGE ROOM

Plympton now has a new heritage room situated inside Harewood House. It contains many local historic artefacts and photographs, some going back to the 1800s. If you have something you'd like to donate or to arrange a viewing of the room contact the Plympton & District Civic Society by  e-mail or telephone 07769 688122 or 07883 011539. The Heritage Room is currently closed due to the Coronavirus.

The Harewood House Coffee Bar

Run by a different community group each week the Harewood House Coffee Bar is a place to meet and socialise and enjoy hot and cold drinks as well as a range of sandwiches and cakes. Hot drinks start from as little as 40p per cup. The Coffee Bar is open every weekday (except Bank Holidays and between Christmas/New Year) from 10am to 3pm. Please note all food purchases must be eaten on the premises. NOTE - The Coffee Bar is currently closed due to the Coronavirus situation.

There is a magazine exchange basket in Plympton Library - when you've finished with yours drop it in the basket and choose another to read from those others have put in. It's over against the back left windows.

There is a box for putting spectacles you no longer want in the entrance to Beacon Medical at Mudge Way. They are then sent for use by people in deprived overseas countries.

Green Garden Waste Collections

 

Kerbside collection of garden waste will start again in April 2021. This year collections will be made from black/dark grey wheelie bins which are being delivered between February and the end of March 2021 to those who have registered.

 

Please note from 2020 you have needed to register with Plymouth City Council for your garden waste to be collected. It will no longer be collected as a matter of standard course. You will need to register on a yearly basis.

To register for your garden waste to be collected click here, select the 'register now' option  and fill out the information asked for. Applications could take up to 4 weeks to process.

 

 

AccessAble - the guide to disabled friendly business locations.

AccessAble is a website where you can search out disabled friendly venues and business services, eg find a cinema with hearing loops, a restaurant with a menu in Braille, is there a disabled toilet at the venue, is there a hotel room with adaptations etc. This useful service was set up by Dr Gregory Burke and was inspired by the difficulties he encountered as a wheelchair user and disabled walker.
